jellyWho?
jellyTeens was founded by jellyellie, 18-year-old “voice of the MSN generation” (The Guardian, 2006) when she was just 17. From a young age jellyellie has been a prominent figure in the media for a range of unconventional entrepreneurial achievements.
jellyellie made her international media debut at the age of 13 when she created bluejackQ.com, the world’s first website dedicated to bluejacking – the art of sending anonymous messages via Bluetooth mobiles. jellyellie and bluejackQ were featured in international online, TV, radio and print media including BBC, CNN, The Times and the site received over 120,000 page views a day.
Aged 15 jellyellie went on to sign a publishing deal for her first book How Teenagers Think, an insider’s guide for parents about teenagers. Interviewing teens from around the world to cover a wide range of topics such as school and friends to the internet and technology, jellyellie was soon recognised in the media and amongst her peers as a figurehead of her generation. HTT has since been translated into Polish and Italian and a second edition is in the pipeline.
jellyellie has since made her mark on the professional speaking circuit as an expert voice of today’s teens. She regularly speaks at conferences and seminars around the world to both adults and her peers. jellyellie’s talks to adults give them with a real horse’s mouth insight into her generation and include a number of high profile public and private sector events on a wide range of topics that affect her and her peers, including technology, mobile phones, the internet, libraries, and books. jellyellie also speaks to students about being a successful young entrepreneur, inspiring them to achieve great things through her own experiences.
jellyellie was inspired to setup jellyTeens after the feedback she received from her speaking engagements showed a real need for, and value in, youth insight from young people themselves.
jellyellie also holds positions on the Young Chamber UK board, MoJ's Youth Citizenship Commission Youth Action Board (for which she was awarded the Diana Certificate of Excellence) and is a proud Make Your Mark enterprise ambassador.
Aside from her entrepreneurial endeavours and love of people, jellyellie is also an avid sailor (RYA Coastal Skipper aged 17), lives onboard a yacht in Portsmouth Harbour with her sexy sailor boyfriend James, and loves anything to do with the outdoors. She also has this weird thing about Dr Pepper. Ask her yourself.
